Korčula will combine sport, solidarity and community spirit this October as the Korčula Run – Race for Life takes to the streets of the historic island town.

The humanitarian event, dedicated to the fight against cancer, will be held on Saturday, October 3, starting at 11:00 a.m. from Trg pomirenja in Korčula.

More than simply a sporting event, the race aims to bring the local community together, raise awareness of the importance of cancer prevention and offer support to patients and their families.

Participants can choose between two routes. The main 5-kilometre course runs from Plokata to Port 9 and back, while a shorter 3-kilometre route takes participants from Plokata to the Fire Station and returns to the starting point.

The entry fee is €15, with organisers stressing that the event is open not only to runners but to everyone wishing to take part.

“Run, walk, or simply be part of the event – because every step carries a message of solidarity and hope,” is the message behind this year’s race.

Against the spectacular backdrop of Korčula, one of the Mediterranean’s best-preserved medieval island towns, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an attractive course and scenic coastal views while supporting an important cause.

The Korčula Run is designed to show that sport can be about much more than crossing a finish line. On October 3, every kilometre will represent support for those affected by cancer and a reminder of the importance of prevention, community and hope.
